If you’re following us on Twitter then you know that we’ve been sharing screenshots from our soon to be released iPhone app for the new 3.0 software (check out Gizmodo’s guide to get up to speed on the new software). Of course, we’re keeping all the great features of the iPhone 2.4 release, like Facebook and Twitter integration, but we’re tacking on a few extra goodies.
We’re pretty excited about the new release, which you should see made available on the date the new software launches (June 17th). So to prepare for the news next week, we thought we’d share a few more screenshots and hint at some of the cool updates to come. We think you’ll love the new app just as much as we do, and we’re excited for the upcoming big reveal.
Satellite and Hybrid Views Oh My!
Everyone likes choice, right? Enter new map display options…
So you can see the Trapmap in satellite view.
Or get a hybrid view of traps, trips, routes, and search.
Turn By Turn Directions
One thing we’ve always wanted to improve is in the app directions. We’ve always felt pretty strongly that Trapster needs to have driving directions, after all what’s the point of running a speed trap alerts application while you drive, if it doesn’t help you get to your final destination? The challenge is making these directions useful for you.

Our previous how-to post shows you how to make the most of directions, but we wanted to make the directions as easy as possible. Thankfully the new OS allows us to provide turn by turn directions with maplets, so now you’ll see something like the image above. We think it’s incredibly more useful (and a whole lot easier to look at), don’t you?
And There’s More
Of course there’s more, but we’ll leave a little bit of mystery until the big day is here. Until then, leave us a comment and let us know what you think about the new iPhone release. Are there any features you’d really like to see? We’re always making updates to the app, so don’t shy app from sharing your thoughts with us.
