SDTweetup is hosting a social media event featuring San Diego Charger Shawne Merriman at Stingaree tonight, June 25th at 7:30pm.

We are super excited! Not only are we the drink sponsor for the evening, but we can’t wait to watch the Ustream broadcast hosted by our very own @jbruin. The live broadcast from Stingaree will stream on Shawne Merriman’s Ustream Channel starting at 8pm PST.

Football season is right around the corner, and since our own hometown football super stud, Charger Linebacker, Shawne Lights Out Merriman (@ShawneMerriman), has taken a fancy to Twitter and social media in general, we thought it would be a blast to have an official SDTweetup with Shawne Merriman to get together and talk and tweet all things Twitter.

Given his celebrity status, Shawne’s perspective on social media and Twitter is very unique, so this time around we’re going to top our typical mixer events with a Q&A session with Shawne moderated by yours truly and broadcast live – starting at 8pm PST – to his Ustream channel. We’ll be taking questions from the audience in attendance and via Twitter and Ustream so make sure to use the hashtag #LightsOut56 (and #sdwteetup if you want) if you’re posing a question for Shawne or talking about the event.
