Trapster 3.5 for the iPhone is packed with convenient features, including new ways to listen to Trapster’s audio alerts through your vehicle’s speakers.
Two points you should be aware of:
1. If you can play your iPhone’s iPod through the car’s stereo (including stereo Bluetooth), then you can play Trapster alerts through your car’s stereo.
2. If (and only if) you are already on a call, Trapster alerts will play through your hands free Bluetooth device.
Now lets go over the different choices available to sync your iPhone with your vehicle’s sound system.
Auxiliary Cable

A simple way to get Trapster’s audio alerts playing through your car speakers, is plugging in an auxiliary cable from your iPhone to your car stereo. And with built in iPod controls, you can listen to music while running Trapster!

Alerts will play over your music or you have the option of the music automatically pausing for audio alerts, making the alerts easier to hear. To customize this setting, tap options then setup.
Sync via Bluetooth
Newer vehicles from manufacturers such as Audi and Ford have something called “A2DP Bluetooth” built into the stereo.
Many cars have the original hands-free Bluetooth, but this is different.
A2DP Bluetooth allows media to play from the iPhone (and Trapster) to the car audio system. In this case, you would make sure you car’s Bluetooth is paired in your iPhone Settings (explained below). Then simply launch Trapster and tap the “Bluetooth Icon” button located on the right side of the screen.
Vehicles without this technology, can still add it by purchasing an A2DP Bluetooth adapter.

To ensure your iPhone’s Bluetooth settings are on, navigate to your iPhone’s main settings, select “General,” and then “Bluetooth.” Now you can slide the button to display “On”. Your iPhone will automatically search for discoverable devices for you to pair with.
USB or Built in iPod Connection

Newer cars have built in USB ports so you can use your iPhone’s supplied charging cord to sync up to the audio system.
There are also vehicles with a built in 30 pin iPod connecter, such as BMW or Mercedes. If this is the case, simply plug your iPhone in, and Trapster will alert through your car speakers.
iPhone Car Charging Dock

The safest way to interact with Trapster on your iPhone while driving is using a car dock. This frees up your hands and keeps the Trapmap in you line of sight. Most have the ability to charge your iPhone, so you have plenty of juice while running Trapster.
These docks will have features for syncing your iPhone’s audio with your car stereo, either through your car’s FM tuner, an auxiliary cord, Bluetooth, a 30 pin iPod connector, or all of the above. We recommend this dock, which is also featured on our homepage.
What if you have your iPhone plugged into the dock, but your car stereo is turned off, or playing a CD instead of the iPod?

While running Trapster, select “Options,” then “Setup,” and swipe the slider “Only Use iPhone Speaker” to “On”. This will force Trapster’s alerts to play through your iPhone’s speaker.
