Trapster has received a ton of coverage worldwide over the last year, from New York to San Fransisco to Australia and even Japan. We still never received much local coverage from our hometown of San Diego, till now. Over the last few weeks San Diego newspapers have taken notice to the small start-up that is causing a big splash in the app world.

We were honored to be featured on the front page of the San Diego Union Tribune on Monday June 22nd. App helps drivers avoid trouble, traffic and cops by Steve Schmidt gives an overview of Trapster and creator Pete Tenereillo’s background as an entrepreneur. North County Times Covers the Speed Trap App
Just when we were coming down from the excitement of being featured on the front page of the Union Tribune, we were featured on the front page of The North County Times on Sunday July 25th.
Reporter, Edward Sifuentes learned about Trapster when he was on assignment during a Police checkpoint in Escondido, California. Edward interviewed the former head of the Escondido traffic bureau, Officer Wynn, and Wynn explained why he supports Trapster:
“When I was running the traffic bureau, I personally witnessed a few drivers coming through the checkpoints, telling the officers that they were going to pick up a drunk friend because they saw on Trapster that we had a checkpoint operating and did not want to drive.”
