Trapster is mostly used as a mobile application, but we want to make sure you are aware of the great features of our website. Did you know you can set up Trusted Groups, report Traps via our 1-800 Tip Line, and send Private Messages to other Trapster users? Lets explore these great features.
Trusted Groups
The Trusted Groups feature allows local, national, or world-wide organizations to collaborate and create private speed trap sharing groups.
Only the members of your group will see the traps you report. Examples of such groups:
* A small group of friends or family members (membership can be as low as two individuals!)
* Several employees from a workplace
* A local auto club
* A national industry organization such as a trucking company
* Members of a Web forum who have a common interest
To view trusted groups that you can join, or to start your own visit the Manage Groups section of the My Account page of Trapster.
1-800 Tip Line
Did you know there is a toll free number you can call to report traps and hazards to Trapster? This is a great option for users that do not own a smart phone, but still want to report traps. This also creates a hands-free way to report traps, if you use hands-free devices in your vehicle. Simply call our 1-800 Tip Line and leave us the location of the trap or hazard. Please give us as much info as possible, include cross streets with the city and state.

Private Messages
Sometimes you want to get in touch with other Trapster users. Maybe you want to talk about a trap a certain user reported, or you want to compliment them on all the red light cameras they reported in your city.
Sending a private message is easy: go to your Private Messages page and enter the Username of the user you want to contact and fire away a private message.
You can also send Private Messages from the trapmap. Just click the “Send PM” button on the trap details bubble to send a message directly to a user that originally reported, or voted on a trap. You can also send a PM about a specific trap to any user by clicking the PM link on the bottom of the trap details bubble.
