Posted by Stefanie in Android, BlackBerry, How-to, Nokia, Palm Pre, Trapster Life, iPhone on November 25th, 2009
While the news is in a flurry reporting everything from traffic to travel methods this holiday season, Trapster received it’s own holiday shout-out. Fox News in Austin, TX reported that Trapster users aren’t the only ones who want to keep us safe by reporting speed traps. The cops do to. And in Austin, Texas they even report themselves.
Trapster is packed full of features to help aid you this holiday season while traveling. The most notorious of course being speed traps as see above. But here are few other great features Trapster has to offer the holiday traveler.
Quick Testdrive: Trapster on 2 Nokia Devices
Nokia mobile phones are the number one used mobile phone worldwide, they sold 468 million phones last year and still own 41.2 percent of the smartphone market. Just astonishing! And who can forget Nokia’s impact on the mobile phone market? I know I had an old school chunky 5100 or something.
Trapster has been available to download on Nokia devices since the May 2009 launch of the OVI Store. I was able to use Trapster on the Nokia N95 and the Nokia 5800. Below I have gone over a few key features Read the rest of this entry »
Trapster Gets Some Ovi Love
We are excited to announce Nokia has launched Ovi, their app store, which is now open and packed with apps, widgets, ringtones, videos and more. Much to our delight, Trapster was featured on the Ovi Store homepage and the Ovi Blog .
We’re flattered that we made their blog post, and that they included this little blurb about us:
Trapster: For the lead-footed drivers amongst us, here’s a handy app to help you avoid another speeding ticket. On a GPS-enabled Nokia, like my 5800, I can give it a quick view before I jump in the car to see where the hot spots are. It crowd sources the information from other commuters and is 100% legal (no radar required). Try it out and you may find as I have, that the process of looking for hotspots encourages you to slow down in general, (good for the gas budget).
With 20,000 “items” up for grabs at launch, Nokia hopes to make a big dent in the mobile app market versus the mighty giants Apple & Google.
Download Trapster at the Ovi store (and yes, it’s free!).
Make sure to send Trapster to a fellow Nokian while you are there!
