Trapster Version 4.0.2 adds Badges, Filter Alerts, and More
Last week Trapster released a new version for the iPhone, which includes some added features to keep you safe and alert on the road. Travis County Police Officially Using Trapster
Trapster has officially teamed up with the police! That’s right, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, in Austin Texas, is now entering their own enforcement locations, as well as other information such as dangerous intersections, road closures, accidents, and traffic jams.

The Trapster Blog Goes Mobile
Yesterday the Trapster team came across this handy little WordPress plug-in called WPtouch. And within 5 minutes the Trapster blog was mobile! The mobile view is supported on iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry Storm, Palm Pre, and Android. How freaking cool right? Check it out for yourself. Just open the web browser on your mobile phone and type in: http://www.blog.trapster.com.

Five Trapster Tips for Traveling this Holiday Season

While the news is in a flurry reporting everything from traffic to travel methods this holiday season, Trapster received it’s own holiday shout-out. Fox News in Austin, TX reported that Trapster users aren’t the only ones who want to keep us safe by reporting speed traps. The cops do to. And in Austin, Texas they even report themselves.
Trapster is packed full of features to help aid you this holiday season while traveling. The most notorious of course being speed traps as see above. But here are few other great features Trapster has to offer the holiday traveler.
Syncing Trapster 3.5 for the iPhone to Your Vehicle’s Audio
Trapster 3.5 for the iPhone is packed with convenient features, including new ways to listen to Trapster’s audio alerts through your vehicle’s speakers.
Two points you should be aware of:
1. If you can play your iPhone’s iPod through the car’s stereo (including stereo Bluetooth), then you can play Trapster alerts through your car’s stereo.
2. If (and only if) you are already on a call, Trapster alerts will play through your hands free Bluetooth device.

Trapster 3.5 for the iPhone
Trapster’s 3.5 version for the iPhone has just been released! We are very excited about the latest version, and want to run through some of the new features. First thing you will notice is the blue icons on the right side of the trapmap. These buttons give you the ability to run some of Trapster’s most popular features without losing site of the trapmap.

Trapster now has the ability to switch from a standard static map to a dynamically rotating based on your direction of travel, sync up to your vehicle’s bluetooth, play songs from your iPod, use our “My Trips”, and view real time Google crowdsourced traffic. Read the rest of this entry »
