What Are All Those Buttons?! Customize Trapster on Your iPhone
Have you ever been in a situation where you need to change your settings on a device or application as soon as possible, yet you have no idea what to do? Maybe it’s just me but it always seem that whenever I need to change my setting on a device, it’s at the most inopportune time. And for the life of me, I usually have no idea how to do it. Most likely because I’ve never done it before. So I spend a large chunk of time trying to figure out what means what.
Let’s take Trapster on the iPhone for example. I’m driving up to Los Angeles one evening and hit wall-to-wall traffic. Definitely not an uncommon or unexpected event. However, tucked between my dashboard and front windshield, Trapster is warning me about red light cameras. Well, I’m clearly on the freeway without a red light camera in site. Unless, you’re counting the miles of brake lights ahead of me. Lucky for me I work at Trapster and know exactly how to remedy the situation but this got me thinking. What if our users don’t know what to do? Thus, my idea to write about all the different settings available in Trapster on the iPhone. Read the rest of this entry »

How-To Get Driving Directions on Your iPhone
Lost, my friends think it’s my middle name. So most people are not surprised to learn that I think computer generated driving directions to be the best invention to ever come about. I live and breathe Google Map’s driving directions.
But most of you guys don’t know that the Trapster iPhone app utilizes Google Maps and can provide the same driving directions we know and love while we’re running the app for speed trap alerts. Essentially it’s a one-stop-shop, which I find to be fabulous, because now I can run Trapster to avoid unnecessary tickets and get directions to any destination my heart desires.
If you’re not familiar with the driving directions feature on Trapster, you’re missing out on some great stuff. We all know the iPhone’s biggest flaw is only being able to run one app at a time. So to have an app that serves multiple functions is key. That’s why we built Trapster to include the trap info you need, the driving directions you love, and the ability to record road trips, search (who doesn’t need a taco shop at 2am?), and view traffic.
For this post I’ll explain the driving directions feature. Read the rest of this entry »
